Increment Timers

Increment Timers

Postby Lineabove » Wed Feb 15, 2012 5:33 pm

Hi Patrick, would ypu pleasee explain in more detail the impact of checking the "Increment Timers" checkbox under Activity Logging.

Also, when you use CADTempo do you add the Project Name in the "Enter a Task Name" location or the "Additional Task Info" location?
Currently, I may enter say "Design" into the "Enter a Task Name" and the the actual Project name ie: "Smith Residence" in the "Additional Task Info" box.

Or does it really matter?

Best regards.

Hi Mel,

The increment timers work like this:

If checked and CadTempo enters into an inactive state and then prompts you for an activity name, the elapsed timer continues to increment. This results in a lower edit % for the document. When not checked the elapsed timer will disengage so to speak.

Regarding the Task Timer - it does not make a difference except for the following. What you type for a Task Name will be remembered and selectable during the CadTempo current process. It will lose the value on log-off or stopping CadTempo.

I am still unclear re: the Increment Timer.

If checked... when does it "disengage"?

You've got it backwards Mel, it "disengages" when not checked.

Lets say you have the Idle Timer set to 5 minutes and the Activity Timer set to 10 minutes.

When "Increment Timers" is not checked:

During 5 minutes of idle time both Edit Time and Elapsed Time are incremented.

After 5 minutes of idle the Activity Timer begins incrementing, Elapsed Time continues to increment, Edit Time stops incrementing.

After 10 minutes of the Activity Timer the Elapsed timer stops incrementing.

When checked the Elapsed timer continues incrementing, resulting in a lower % of Edit to Elapsed time.
