Windows 7

Postby Lineabove » Sun May 29, 2011 7:57 am

Using WIndows 7.
From time to time I will find a CadTemp.dmp file.
For example "CadTemp.exe.1672.dmp" is currently located in: C:\UsersLineabove\AppData\CrashDumps

I am curious if other Windows 7 Users are finding the same ?

Do you find the file is created again after it has been deleted?

Interesting fellow that *dmp file is.
I had been deleting and it will come back although I have encountered no crash prior to the file being created.

Over this past weekend I uninstalled CadTempo, downloaded the current version and did a "clean" install.
I have not had the *dmp file created since.

Will report if I see this *.dmp file again.

Exception code: 0xc0000005 indicates some type of Access Violation which can be difficult to pin point.

Do you recall if it happened when you closed a monitored application or any thing in particular?

Over the weekend I'll compile a CadTempo.exe that will contain a debugger and post a copy for download. Hopefully it will capture more information.

Thanks for following up and letting me know.

I may be totally wrong but, I beleive this has happened when I have had more than 1 drawing open OR when I have come back to the computer after being away for a little while.

I will pay attention and record the event if the crash happends again.

Thanks.

More info as I just had Cad Timer Utility crash as I was opening a second drawing.

If this is of any significance, the second drawing name "IN-PROGRESS McCarthy Residence ERROR.dwg" is almost the same as the first drawing name "IN-PROGRESS McCarthy Residence.dwg".

Here is a zipped CadTempo.exe with an embedded debugger. Hopefully if you experience a crash as before it will be caught and allow you to e-mail the report to me with additional information.

(first time in attaching a file here. hope it works)

You are welcome. I appreciate the reporting so I can get things fixed up.

I received the bug report you submitted and added some error handling that hopefully will catch the indicated access violation (new attachment). Please let me know if you encounter any other problems or if this one persists.
